Malawi Government, through Sports Council, has paid out the Presidential Cup prizes amounting to K16 million (about $40 000) over three weeks after the final match was played.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions officer Gomezgani Zaka on Thursday confirmed that council had paid out the prizes.
“All the clubs have received their prize money and as earlier on stated by Sports Council, the rules of the competition stipulate that they shall be paid within 30 days after the final match and it was still within that period,” said Zakazaka.
